Neev Energy is executing the Smart Street Lighting System for Guwahati’s Spine Roads on a Design, Build, Operate & Maintain (DBOM) basis. The project is now in its final stages, with handover underway, and marks a major transformation of the city’s arterial corridors through intelligent, energy-efficient lighting systems.
The solution combines both group-controlled and individually controlled LED luminaires, with dimming capabilities deployed along key roads to balance illumination and energy efficiency. The scope includes advanced LED fixtures, octagonal poles with foundations, underground cabling, feeder pillars, earthing, and smart outdoor controllers. A Centralized Control & Monitoring System (CCMS), integrated with the City Command & Control Centre, provides real-time visibility, adaptive control, and GIS-based asset management.
Executing this project in Guwahati’s dense urban environment presented distinct challenges. The arterial roads are high-traffic lifelines of the city, demanding precise traffic coordination, phased execution, and stringent safety management. Establishing new infrastructure in such a setting required not only technical rigor but also continuous engagement with municipal agencies and on-ground stakeholders.
By overcoming these complexities, the project delivers a future-ready lighting network that improves safety, ensures operational uptime, reduces energy use, and strengthens Guwahati’s position as a growing smart city.
